Mom & Me is the exception to the normal model of health agency administration. The University of Washington School of Dentistry acted as the fiscal sponsor, receiving grant money from Washington Dental Service Foundation for the local portion of program operating funds and qualifying for the administrative match from Medicaid. The three years of Foundation funding is now complete and the program is now on its own. The program received a $30,000 grant from the Washington Health Foundation in 2002.

The original goal was to focus on newborns and offer treatment services to pregnant women and new mothers (hence the name). This approach has not yet been feasible, but many infants and very young children are enrolled.

Enrollment began in:

June 1999
